This monumental environmental sculpture addresses the surrounding Tuscan architecture as well as the agrarian history of the locale. A path leads through the “gateway,” symbolic of a ranch marker/entry incorporating old-world aqueducts. The water provides a cooling effect and substance for life in this dry, hot location. The three basalt sculptures represent a “stone forest” destination beyond the gateway.
