The Joy of Learning combines bold and energetic shapes that evoke the wonderful dynamic of learning. Lines dance throughout the sculpture, defined by curvilinear shapes, suggesting the disciplines of art and humanity. Integrated rectilinear shapes evoke references to the spirit of math and science. The playful combinations of positive shapes and negative spaces provide a level of energy reflective of athletics. Other conceptual references exist such as the door to learning and the world beyond school.
